Zelda at Night
Okay, lots of people have been debating about the white line thing. That was fully intentional. However, I drew this a while back, when I didn't know how to make white space transparent. But, now I know. ^^ I do it like this:

1. scan in a drawing.
2. in photoshop, select all and copy.
3. create a new layer, and fill it in black.
4. switch to quick mask mode, and paste into the black layer.
5. switch back to normal mode, and press delete.

All finished!

If I had wanted a cleaner line I could have stroked the outline of the drawing. Ah well. Practice makes perfect, right?

I don't particularly like Zelda, but I do like drawing her. Hopefully she'll be cooler in TP and actually do some of her own fighting... and I hope there's some kind of Malon-esque character in it too!

The white line surrounding her reminds me of paper mario. Anyway, real fine work. Good proportion and shading, the light colors and tones make her really stand out in the picture. Thumbs up for you.

the white line is really bugging me, but i can tell u did that on purpose... and so it must have... a purpose... scipio is right! good props, and coloring~!

very gentle looking. looks like she's just asking to get kidnapped by Ganon or such white line seems like a mistake to me, but if you claim it's intentional... i know how hard those things are to get rid of, with a pic of this size it could take 30 minutes for a clean job.

in photoshop? that is false! it could take one second to fix that (if this was done using layers, which i am assuming it was) all he/she (sorry i don't know) has to do is a 'inner glow' layer effect of black, and put the opacity and intensity all the way up... and then just do the blend thing how ever much u need to... C'mon KR!!! i thought you were the photoshop king! u should know stuff like that! lol just play'n with ya man... lol but ya if u did that it could fix the line...

i was assuming that she drew the base pic on white paper, then pasted it onto the bg. from there she'd do her effects etc, and have to crop out the excess whitespace with the polygonal lasso tool, with perhaps 5 pixels of feathering from the look of it. that's how i'd do it, but it's a very time consuming process, if you want it to be clean. _ _ _ and i am no photoshop king, that's dan heron... i mostly use photoshop for editing model skins. most of the stuff i post here are just doodles between real modelling projects, unskinned and unfinished. think of them as doodles in 3D (good lord i'm a nerd...).

Yes, it's pretty easy to see that it's a scanned pencil drawing (the noise you see in all of the lines). Seems like she brushed around the origninal. Sheesh, just use the magic wand to select the background or, heck, just select the stuff on the inside if there's too much surrounding the original picture, then select the inverse of that and work on your background. If the magic wand didn't work, adjusting the levels of the picture could have upped the contrast and made harder lines. My guess is that she tried a magic wand tool and there was some point where the line was borken, so she couldn't just select the background, so she just decided to wing it with the lasso or brush. The background is pretty much all brushwork. . . so it wouldn't surprise me if she just kept goin' with that tool. I am confident in saying that the coloration is all photoshop though. . . bah. I wanna start another project for this site now. . . gotta find around this whole 'going to class thing,'

What white line? I see none. And she's BEGGING to be kidnapped (or is it teen-napped?). Now I want to draw. I wonder how that happened. Beautiful. Or as Link says, 'Prettyful.' (Oh god, I'm a computer nerd)
