A mix of in game sprite, official art, and some artistic license were used here. Just be careful in this fight.

6--Barba_of_Three-Eye_Rock_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Three-Eye Rock Palace Guardian Barba248 viewsThe Three-Eye Rock Palace's Guardian, Barba... perhaps one of the more difficult bosses of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

7--Thunderbird_of_Great_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Great Palace Guardian Thunderbird245 viewsGreat Palace's guardian in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link... the Thunderbird.

I used the sprite as a reference.

Even if Link passes Thunderbird, he still has the final challenge...

8--Shadow_Link.png
8--Shadow_Link.pngZelda 2 AoL: Final Challenge Dark Link193 viewsApt title for this--it's the final boss of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, Dark Link (in this incarnation as Link's Shadow).

I used the screen shot as a reference, and added some glowing eyes to make it more evil.

1--Horsehead_of_Parapa_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Parapa Palace Guardian Horsehead325 viewsHorsehead, the guardian of Parapa Palace, and the first boss of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used his in-game sprite as a reference, with some artistic license and a little bit of his official art.

2--Helmethead_of_Midoro_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Midoro Palace Guardian Helmethead205 viewsHelmethead, the boss of the Midoro Swamp Palace. And he has not just that current head on his shoulders...

I mixed his official art and ingame sprite, with some artistic license, as reference for him.

3--Boss_Ironknuckle_of_Island_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Island Palace Guardian Boss Ironknuckle213 viewsThe Boss Ironknuckle, aka Rebonack, who protects the Island Palace.

Get ready for one hell of a jousting match!

Official art was the reference for his design. But the shade of blue was from his in-game sprite.

4--Carock_of_Maze_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Maze Palace Guardian Carock346 viewsThe wizard boss of the Maze Palace in Adventure of Link... Carock! Get the Reflect Spell ready!

His design is based off of the official art... but the color is from his in-game sprite.

LoZ2_Spell.jpg
LoZ2_Spell.jpgZelda 2 AoL Spell Spell513 viewsSpell Spell! Pizza Pizza! (Okay, that was a wee bit corny...)

Anyway, Link's used it to turn some tough monsters into wimpy Bots!

Sprites, screenshots, and official art were used as references. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the Spell isn't in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Thunder.jpgZelda 2 AoL Thunder Spell237 viewsZelda 2: Adventure of Link--the Thunder Spell!

Official art was used as reference here. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Jump.jpg
LoZ2_Jump.jpgZelda 2 AoL Jump Spell170 viewsLink leaping onto the roof of a house, using his Jump Spell in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link (he's probably seeking one of the knights to teach him one of the two special thrusts).

Screenshots, sprites, and official art were used as reference. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Life.jpg
LoZ2_Life.jpgZelda 2 AoL Life Spell173 viewsLink patching up his wounds with the Life Spell in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

LoZ2_Fairy.jpg
LoZ2_Fairy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fairy Spell165 viewsLink probably had trouble getting the keys, so he's using the Fairy Spell to get through a door in the Maze Palace, in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, official art, and screenshots were references (as well as artistic license). See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Fire.jpg
LoZ2_Fire.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fire Spell167 viewsLink shooting a fireball from his sword, courtesy of the Fire Spell, learned in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, screenshots, and official art were references here. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for reason the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Reflect.jpg
LoZ2_Reflect.jpgZelda 2 AoL Reflect Spell168 viewsLink using the Reflect Spell in the Maze Palace (where it is DEFINITELY required) in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, official art, and screen shots used as references. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for the reason why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Shield.jpg
LoZ2_Shield.jpgZelda 2 AoL Shield Spell187 viewsThe Shield Spell from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Link is using it in Parapa Desert to get to the first Palace.

Now, I know that usually there should be the name of the spell here, but I forgot to put it up, and didn't realize it until I completed Jump Spell... by then, it was too late. So the spell artworks in my Zelda 2 stuff won't have the titles within the artworks themselves.

Anyway, as usual, sprites, screenshots, and official art were the references here.

LoZ2_Boots.jpg
LoZ2_Boots.jpgZelda 2 AoL Boots160 viewsThe winged Boots in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, waiting in its chamber in the Maze Palace.

With these boots, Link can levitate over the waters to reach the Palace on the Sea.

I used the manual scan as reference for the boots, and VGMaps.com (and some artistic license) for reference on the palace setting.

LoZ2_Flute.jpg
LoZ2_Flute.jpgZelda 2 AoL Flute171 viewsThe magical flute in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, lying in the Palace on the Sea.

Link'll need this to pass the River Devil and find Three-Eye-Rock Palace.

I used a little license for the flute, since the manual scan flute looks almost more like an oboe. For the palace backdrop, I used VGMaps.com, plus some artistic license there too.

LoZ2_Magical_Key.jpg
LoZ2_Magical_Key.jpgZelda 2 AoL Magical Key165 viewsIt may not have a lion head, but the Magical Key in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link has the same purpose as the previous game--opening unlimited numbers of doors in Palaces... you'll need this in Three-Eye Rock Palace!

Here it is in New Kasuto Town.

I used the manual scan for reference for the key.

LoZ2_Cross.jpg
LoZ2_Cross.jpgZelda 2 AoL Cross172 viewsThe magical cross in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, lying in Three Eye Rock Palace.

Obtaining this makes the final areas MUCH easier, as it makes those invisible Moas visible!

Anyway, I used the manual scan for reference of the cross, and VGMaps.com (with some artistic licence) for the palace backdrop.

LoZ2_Candle.jpg
LoZ2_Candle.jpgZelda 2 AoL Candle164 viewsThe (red) Candle in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, which makes traversing caves MUCH safer.

Here it is in the first palace--Parapa Palace! Crack crack crack the egg into the bowl! (Get it? Oh, never mind.)

Anyway, I used the manual scan as a reference for the candle, and VGMaps.com (with some artistic license) for the palace backdrop.

LoZ2_Hammer.jpg
LoZ2_Hammer.jpgZelda 2 AoL Hammer169 viewsThe Hammer of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, inside the caves in Death Mountain.

Link needs this to break those boulders so he can continue.

I used the manual scan as reference for the hammer.

LoZ2_Handy_Glove.jpg
LoZ2_Handy_Glove.jpgZelda 2 AoL Handy Glove167 viewsThe Handy Glove of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, needed to break blocks.

Here it is, lying in Midoro (Swamp) Palace, waiting for Link to put it on.

I used the manual scan (and some artistic license) for the glove, and VGMaps.com (again, along with artistic license) for the palace background.

LoZ2_Raft.jpg
LoZ2_Raft.jpgZelda 2 AoL Raft163 viewsThe Raft in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, waiting in the Island Palace.

You'll need this to get to the other continent and continue the quest for the Triforce of Courage.

I used the instruction manual scan for reference on the raft, and VGMaps.com for reference in the palace... with a little artistic license thrown in.
