LoZ2--Doll.jpg
LoZ2--Doll.jpgZelda 2 AoL 1Up Doll101 viewsThe cute 1Up Doll from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Isn't it cute?

Weird how Zelda 2 is one of the few Zelda games (if not the ONLY one) that has extra lives. How bizarre, how bizarre.

Anyway, I used an official artwork as a reference.

LoZ2--Ache.jpg
LoZ2--Ache.jpgZelda 2 AoL Ache234 viewsAche, the bat from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used a sprite as a reference.

And you definitely will "ache" if this bat attacks you a lot!

LoZ2--Acheman.jpgZelda 2 AoL Acheman395 viewsNa na na na na na na na ACHEMAN!!!

(Oh, come on! Like you didn't see that Batman inside joke coming in a mile away!)

Anyway, here's the red bat monster from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. I used a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Bago-Bago.jpg
LoZ2--Bago-Bago.jpgZelda 2 AoL Bago-Bago158 viewsThe bone fish undead from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Perhaps its last moment in life was Zora's lunch?

I used an official art as a reference.

LoZ2--Basilisk_Zora.jpg
LoZ2--Basilisk_Zora.jpgZelda 2 AoL Basilisk (Zora?)158 viewsThe basilisk monster in Zelda 2, Adventure of Link. But it could very well be Zora, hence the name choice.

Anyway, I used a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Bit_and_Bot.jpg
LoZ2--Bit_and_Bot.jpgZelda 2 AoL Bit and Bot357 viewsBit and Bot, the two weak blobs from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used sprites as a reference.

Make great training fodder for starter adventurers, these two.

LoZ2--Boon.jpg
LoZ2--Boon.jpgZelda 2 AoL Boon148 viewsThe big fly from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Make this big bug buzz off, if you can!

I used both a sprite and an official artwork as references.

LoZ2_Boots.jpg
LoZ2_Boots.jpgZelda 2 AoL Boots157 viewsThe winged Boots in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, waiting in its chamber in the Maze Palace.

With these boots, Link can levitate over the waters to reach the Palace on the Sea.

I used the manual scan as reference for the boots, and VGMaps.com (and some artistic license) for reference on the palace setting.

LoZ2--Bubbles.jpg
LoZ2--Bubbles.jpgZelda 2 AoL Bubble Bunch401 views*sings* That's the way they became the Bubble Bunch!
(sorry, I couldn't resist the Brady Bunch inside joke)

Anyway, here is the Great Bubble and some lesser bubbles from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. I used sprites as references for the characters, and their location is Great Palace (the final palace). I used VGMaps as a reference there.

LoZ2_Candle.jpg
LoZ2_Candle.jpgZelda 2 AoL Candle161 viewsThe (red) Candle in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, which makes traversing caves MUCH safer.

Here it is in the first palace--Parapa Palace! Crack crack crack the egg into the bowl! (Get it? Oh, never mind.)

Anyway, I used the manual scan as a reference for the candle, and VGMaps.com (with some artistic license) for the palace backdrop.

LoZ2_Cave.jpg
LoZ2_Cave.jpgZelda 2 AoL Cave102 viewsCave from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. I used a manual screenshot as a reference, and added a little artistic license.DBoyWheeler
LoZ2_Cross.jpg
LoZ2_Cross.jpgZelda 2 AoL Cross169 viewsThe magical cross in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, lying in Three Eye Rock Palace.

Obtaining this makes the final areas MUCH easier, as it makes those invisible Moas visible!

Anyway, I used the manual scan for reference of the cross, and VGMaps.com (with some artistic licence) for the palace backdrop.

LoZ2--Daira.jpg
LoZ2--Daira.jpgZelda 2 AoL Daira355 viewsThe axe-wielding gator, Daira, from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link

The redder version of this guy is a pain in the arse, as he can throw his axe! This version (the yellow/orangish) is a bit more tame.

Anyway, I used a mix of the official art and a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Deeler.jpg
LoZ2--Deeler.jpgZelda 2 AoL Deeler388 viewsDeeler no deal! (Ha ha, I tell bad joke!)

Anyway, here's the spider from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link (red version is probably elsewhere)

I used a sprite and some artistic license for this one.

LoZ2MauAndRaByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Dog and Dragon Heads160 viewsMau (the Dog Head) and Ra (the Dragon Head) in the Maze Palace in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I learned their names in the Zelda Wiki.

LoZ2DoomknockerByDBoy.jpg

LoZ2DoomraddleByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2DoomraddleByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Doomraddle155 viewsDoomraddle, aka Guma, in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I'm calling him Doomraddle so he won't be confused with the fifth boss, Gooma (whom Japanese fans named "Giant"/Jaianto), but anyway, here he is dancing about in Midoro Palace.

Is it just me, or does Doomraddle look like an effed up Taz? Anyway, I used a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2_Fairy.jpg
LoZ2_Fairy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fairy Spell163 viewsLink probably had trouble getting the keys, so he's using the Fairy Spell to get through a door in the Maze Palace, in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, official art, and screenshots were references (as well as artistic license). See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Fire.jpg
LoZ2_Fire.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fire Spell165 viewsLink shooting a fireball from his sword, courtesy of the Fire Spell, learned in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, screenshots, and official art were references here. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for reason the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Flute.jpg
LoZ2_Flute.jpgZelda 2 AoL Flute168 viewsThe magical flute in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, lying in the Palace on the Sea.

Link'll need this to pass the River Devil and find Three-Eye-Rock Palace.

I used a little license for the flute, since the manual scan flute looks almost more like an oboe. For the palace backdrop, I used VGMaps.com, plus some artistic license there too.

LoZ2FokkaByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2FokkaByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fokka336 viewsFokka, the birdbrained version of Ironknuckle in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. You'll encounter him and his ilk in the final Palace, the Great Palace.

Don't "fokka" around here! (Ha ha, I tell bad joke!)

Anyway, I used the sprite (and some of the official art) as reference here.

LoZ2FotailByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Fotail149 viewsFotail, the more dangerous of the two "birdbrains" in the Great Palace, the final place to go to in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used the ingame sprite as the reference here. The official art (that I found in Zelda Wiki) has him looking like an alien bug. Anyway, here's Fotail.
