6--Barba_of_Three-Eye_Rock_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Three-Eye Rock Palace Guardian Barba244 viewsThe Three-Eye Rock Palace's Guardian, Barba... perhaps one of the more difficult bosses of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

A mix of in-game sprite and official art were the references here.

1--Horsehead_of_Parapa_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Parapa Palace Guardian Horsehead321 viewsHorsehead, the guardian of Parapa Palace, and the first boss of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Jump and aim for the head, Link!

I used his in-game sprite as a reference, with some artistic license and a little bit of his official art.

5--Gooma_of_Palace_on_the_Sea.pngZelda 2 AoL: Palace on the Sea Guardian Gooma258 viewsGooma (JP: Jaianto), Guardian of Palace on the Sea, from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

A mix of in game sprite, official art, and some artistic license were used here. Just be careful in this fight.

2--Helmethead_of_Midoro_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Midoro Palace Guardian Helmethead201 viewsHelmethead, the boss of the Midoro Swamp Palace. And he has not just that current head on his shoulders...

I mixed his official art and ingame sprite, with some artistic license, as reference for him.

4--Carock_of_Maze_Palace.png
4--Carock_of_Maze_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Maze Palace Guardian Carock341 viewsThe wizard boss of the Maze Palace in Adventure of Link... Carock! Get the Reflect Spell ready!

His design is based off of the official art... but the color is from his in-game sprite.

3--Boss_Ironknuckle_of_Island_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Island Palace Guardian Boss Ironknuckle210 viewsThe Boss Ironknuckle, aka Rebonack, who protects the Island Palace.

Get ready for one hell of a jousting match!

Official art was the reference for his design. But the shade of blue was from his in-game sprite.

7--Thunderbird_of_Great_Palace.png
7--Thunderbird_of_Great_Palace.pngZelda 2 AoL: Great Palace Guardian Thunderbird240 viewsGreat Palace's guardian in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link... the Thunderbird.

I used the sprite as a reference.

Even if Link passes Thunderbird, he still has the final challenge...

8--Shadow_Link.png
8--Shadow_Link.pngZelda 2 AoL: Final Challenge Dark Link190 viewsApt title for this--it's the final boss of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, Dark Link (in this incarnation as Link's Shadow).

I used the screen shot as a reference, and added some glowing eyes to make it more evil.

LoZ2--Wizzar.jpg
LoZ2--Wizzar.jpgZelda 2 AoL Wizzar165 viewsWizzar, the Wizzrobe relative (and disciple of Carock) from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Yes, Wizzar is its official name--I checked it in a Zelda Wiki.

I used a sprite as a character reference, and for the location, I once again used VGMaps (in this case, Maze Island Palace).

LoZ2--Treasure_Bag.jpg
LoZ2--Treasure_Bag.jpgZelda 2 AoL Treasure Bag318 viewsThe Treasure Bag in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

It's kinda bizarre that Zelda 2: AoL is the one of the few Zelda games (if not the ONLY official Zelda game) that has EXP. Anyway, the treasure bag gives you a little extra experience points. Careful, though--some are menacing mimics that hide enemies!

I used a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Tinsuit.jpg
LoZ2--Tinsuit.jpgZelda 2 AoL Tinsuit159 viewsYep! That one hopping enemy in Parapa Palace (in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link)... the one that looks like a dog enemy in armor... it has a name in North America. It's called Tinsuit. So whoever takes care of the bestiary on this site, please note. (In the Bestiary, we only know its Japanese name--WOSU).

Anyway, I used a sprite as a reference for the character. For the Parapa Palace BG, I used VGMaps.com as a reference.

LoZ2_Thunder.jpg
LoZ2_Thunder.jpgZelda 2 AoL Thunder Spell234 viewsZelda 2: Adventure of Link--the Thunder Spell!

Official art was used as reference here. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2TektiteByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2TektiteByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Tektite161 viewsThe eyeball spider Tektite returns in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. And it's gotten more resilient (not to mention learned a few new tricks).

I had to use a sprite as a reference, so it doesn't look as good as it could've been.

LoZ2_Swamp.jpg
LoZ2_Swamp.jpgZelda 2 AoL Swamp156 viewsThe swamp from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Used a screenshot of a manual scan as a reference.DBoyWheeler
LoZ2--Stalfos.jpg
LoZ2--Stalfos.jpgZelda 2 AoL Stalfos159 viewsThe Zelda 2: Adventure of Link version of Stalfos. Showing once again how I suck at drawing skeletons.

This one's in Parapa Palace (I used VGMaps as a reference here).

Both a sprite and the official art were reference for Stalfos.

LoZ2_Spell.jpg
LoZ2_Spell.jpgZelda 2 AoL Spell Spell502 viewsSpell Spell! Pizza Pizza! (Okay, that was a wee bit corny...)

Anyway, Link's used it to turn some tough monsters into wimpy Bots!

Sprites, screenshots, and official art were used as references. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for why the name of the Spell isn't in the artwork itself.

LoZ2SorcererByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2SorcererByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Sorcerer157 viewsMago, the fire flinging sorcerer in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

This is him in the Palace on the Sea, where you'll see him a lot. He's in other palaces, sure, but this seems to be Mago's home base.

I used a sprite, and an official art I found on ZeldaWiki, as references.

LoZ2SkullWarriorByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2SkullWarriorByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Skull Warrior168 viewsThe Skull Warrior, alias Paratamu, from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Here he is patrolling the Midoro (Swamp) Palace. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Midoro Palace is the Skull Warrior's first debut.

Anyway, I used a sprite as the reference, and I once again show how much I suck at drawing skeletons.

LoZ2SkettlarByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2SkettlarByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Skettlar160 viewsAruroda, also called by his fan-name "Skettlar" from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Beware of the fire-slinging tail... it's a "tale" best left untold! (Ha ha, I tell bad joke)

I used a sprite (and the official art from ZeldaWiki) as reference.
DBoyWheeler
LoZ2_Shield.jpg
LoZ2_Shield.jpgZelda 2 AoL Shield Spell183 viewsThe Shield Spell from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Link is using it in Parapa Desert to get to the first Palace.

Now, I know that usually there should be the name of the spell here, but I forgot to put it up, and didn't realize it until I completed Jump Spell... by then, it was too late. So the spell artworks in my Zelda 2 stuff won't have the titles within the artworks themselves.

Anyway, as usual, sprites, screenshots, and official art were the references here.

LoZ2RopeByDBoy.jpg
LoZ2RopeByDBoy.jpgZelda 2 AoL Rope324 viewsRope in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. He's moved out of the labyrinths and now resides in the desert (but sometimes goes to caves too).

I used his Zelda 1 official art as reference--in his sprite, he looks like a Pirahna Plant wannabe.

LoZ2_Reflect.jpg
LoZ2_Reflect.jpgZelda 2 AoL Reflect Spell165 viewsLink using the Reflect Spell in the Maze Palace (where it is DEFINITELY required) in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Sprites, official art, and screen shots used as references. See "Zelda 2 AoL Shield Spell" for the reason why the name of the spell is not in the artwork itself.

LoZ2_Raft.jpg
LoZ2_Raft.jpgZelda 2 AoL Raft160 viewsThe Raft in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, waiting in the Island Palace.

You'll need this to get to the other continent and continue the quest for the Triforce of Courage.

I used the instruction manual scan for reference on the raft, and VGMaps.com for reference in the palace... with a little artistic license thrown in.
