islands_bg.jpgZunari's Homeland1211 viewsI'm just taking a break from modelling for now, and am playing around with a program called terragen. It's chief use is making skyboxes, but it can also be useful for artistic wallpapers like this.
The idea was to make a group of islands that would resemble Zunari's (the shop guy in WW) homeland, which is supposed to be all cold and snowy. Originally I had it much, much more snowy, but I decided it wasn't very visually engaging, so I severely turned down the snow and added plenty of rock and a little grass. In retrospect I wish I had kept more of the snow. Oh well.

well, i couldn't do a very good background. proD isn't good at textures (the grass, wall, and stones are all clouds and sky, with really weird colors). also, the wood thingy over it shouldn't be so light. but the actual well part of the well is pretty good, i think. i actually spent a few hours on this one--most of my pics take less than half an hour.the_ocarina_of_time

Actually, I've had this picture for at least a month. But I wasn't quite sure what to do with the water. I eventually made at least 10 different versions (each one had 700,000 polygons), waited a week or two, and then just picked the first one i had done.
This was actually (partially) inspired by lord-of-shadow's article about the clouds. Yes, that one several months ago. I tried to do a stunning sky in a Wind Waker environment. I think I succeeded.the_ocarina_of_time

If you have played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, or you know someone who has played it, then you know who Marche is.
If you've seen the game's official art, then you have probably noticed that Marche has a gigantic @$$. Vaati has revealed why in my fanfic using only a pin and a voodoo doll (it's full of air and confetti).
Why is Vaati doing this? In my fanfic, Marche is the bloody jerk who deserves it. The Japanese text on the top says, "Oh no. Me bum popped." And Link Y. is PO'd.

Well... imagine how depressed and shocked he was at the beginning, when he finally woke up from the seal the Master Sword put on him. Having lost all that time and then having to save Hyrule almost by himself! That's what I'm trying to express with this picture. I hope you like it. It took a lot of effort and I think I finally got better at making the clouds and the sky. Just watching how Link's hair turned out to be (thanks, tablet-chan X3 ) makes me drool, and he's the best hero in the history of videogames!!! XD AHHH! I done the muddy grass, the way he sliped on the mud, the rain in the background and the sky, and I like the way I've done the rain falling on him. I also made it dark 'cause it's like a dark day/afternoon/evening in the pic. I also like the muddy, tears and damage effects I done to Shadow.
Shadow has wings 'cause my fandom mind wants him to here and he's just got shot in the neck which made him plummet and slide on the muddy, wet ground. He was trying to save Vio but he's obviosly dropped him from being shot and he's crying and sorry and all that.
;-; This is like the most depressing pic I've ever done. The darkness, the rain, the tears. TwT I'm so proud of myself!

Having played Oracle games recently I realised that Link is such a pain-in-the-ass to control, I'm not bashing the difficulty factor because gamers love a new challenge, and all Zelda games start with just 3 hearts meaning the monsters can inflict tremendous damage to your life-force, BUT here you always seem to come off worse whenever fighting a screen full of enemies, the hero moves like a stoned snail and his sword is pathetically weak! (you can't upgrade it until the last leg of the quest) …don't even get me started on those damn electrified monsters. ]:x
My annoyance sky-rocketed after the first few dungeons; then I found Ricky, and I actually started enjoying the game again. This kangaroo kicks ass! Ricky can move far faster, attacks bad guys like crazy, jump over cliffs easily, and unleashes powerful mini-tornados upon command. =3
Pity you can't take this companion into the dungeons. >.>
