zelda.JPGYoung Zelda2278 viewsWhen you talk to those stone things in front of Hyrule castle they tell you that Zelda is really a little tomboy, so I thought it'd be fun to draw her that way. She's practicing swordfighting behind her father's back, tehee.
Her clothes were supposed to be a sort of feminine form of Link's tunic, which is already girly enough (*cough*manskirt*cough*) Sharpie drawing colored in GIMP. I need to stop drinking coffee and drawing straight afterwards *much jittery*Chibi-Kokiri

zelda_gown.jpgZelda at Night2269 viewsOkay, lots of people have been debating about the white line thing. That was fully intentional. However, I drew this a while back, when I didn't know how to make white space transparent. But, now I know. ^^ I do it like this:
1. scan in a drawing.
2. in photoshop, select all and copy.
3. create a new layer, and fill it in black.
4. switch to quick mask mode, and paste into the black layer.
5. switch back to normal mode, and press delete.
All finished!
If I had wanted a cleaner line I could have stroked the outline of the drawing. Ah well. Practice makes perfect, right?
I don't particularly like Zelda, but I do like drawing her. Hopefully she'll be cooler in TP and actually do some of her own fighting... and I hope there's some kind of Malon-esque character in it too!cerasly

Zeldadress.jpgZelda Magic2225 viewsI love this pic. I feel like I can do much better now, but this drawing was a milestone in my photoshoping skills. I did the whole thing on the computer using a mouse (drawing included), and used cell-shading on the dress. I haven't done that much detail on one photoshop before. I also added shine to her hair and all the magic effects using the blur and smudge tool. Now that I've learned about overlays and lighting effects, I feel like I can make this pic SO much better, but I still love it.

Zelda PNG .pngManga Zelda XD2213 viewsMore of my Manga heads for you X3. I didn't make her look royal because I'm the begining of my FanFic she dosn't know she is a princess and she lived in a village with Link all her life. The reason for this will be in my fanfic!bounty hunter

Zelda copy.jpgCaptive2147 viewsThis goes out to Girlink who beat me to the punch on princess Zelda's poor treatment as a captive. Basically, I'm still trying to get the hang of photoshop (I know, I know, uber boring gradient in the back, but I don't want to do a background). I think I'm getting better, but colors still look like some bizzare type of painting. . . you probably noticed that I'm going for a little more realism than the. . . well whatever style they're done in by the official artists.
As for the context of the scene going on, bad guys should be bad guys. The rest is up to your imagination.Scipio

Link&Zelda -REJECTED.jpgLinkandZelda castlezelda2107 viewsREJECTED was what I thought when I first saw this pic..so to keep with the light emotion and the sketch like look to it I colored it lightly with markers and colored pencils,..the BG is a blend of crayoncoloredpencilmarker,..to set the image out farther.

oot_girls_sm.jpgGirls of OoT.2102 viewsAltogether, this probably took about 10 hours. I wish I coud post the full-size version, but it's 4.5 MB. O-o All the clothes were original designs, since I ddin't have any referances available when I drew it. After I finished it, I realized I forgot Impa. Oops. Maybe she's just so manly I forgot she was a girl of OoT, too! lol. Enjoy.cerasly

among_the_dead_1027.jpgAmong the Dead2100 viewsHaven't been around here in a long minute, so here's my latest Zelda piece, Among the Dead. I wanted to do a piece with Link in the graveyard with ghosts. This was the image I had in mind from the cemetery section of Zelda 1. This took me quite a while to draw at first, I couldn't quite get the pose for link right, so I kept trying different poses when I had free time. Once I finally had the pencils, it took me about a week / week and a half, on and off to Photoshop. The ghosts where somewhat difficult at first becuase the pencils for them were very unsubstantial, I pretty much had to paint them in with Photoshop. Anyway, hope you guys like it.Shady Gambino
