BH's challenge
well, BH challenged us to color his outline of the Gilded Sword, and two people have already done so. So I thought to myself "With competition like this, what's the best way to compete? work outside the rules!" so rather than coloring the sword like BH asked us to, i modelled it in Q2Modeller, my 3d modeller of choice. the sword is extremely rough-hewn, because each and every vertex and triangle was done by hand. if i get some positive reception, i'll up the vertex count and skin it.

it's very good, but i think you should make the final result bigger. i think i'll have to do this with proD. hehe... your sword stands no chance.... *evil cackle*

http://www.megagear.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=26 wow, i love my birthday presents, they illustrate my geekyness altogether too well... anyways, on topic, to increase the view size could be tricky, the screenie this was based off of was 1152x864 resolution, it doesn't get much bigger than that.

i meant the size of the upper right one.

yeah, it's fixed dependant on the resolution of my computer. i'm sorry, it's F/OSS software written over 6 years ago. I'm not about to decompile and rewrite it so i can resize the 3D viewport there's just not enough time for that.

didn't follow that... believe it or not, i'm STILL planning on doing this.... but as you say, there's just not enough time. EDIT: oh wait i may have followed that! or... maybe not. if it was based on a 1152x864 pic, why's this only 316x738? and what's the "resolution of your computer"? one more thing, where did you get the Q2Modeller? could i get it free somewhere? would it just confuse/scare me? oh and btw that link is broken.
